Relative to a year ago, the engineering profession employs over 30,000 more workers and, according to the most recent survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, engineering majors are among the most sought after graduates in the class of 2008. Reflecting this, June saw an addition of 3,000 jobs for the profession as a wide range of companies are seeking the advanced technical skill sets that these professionals provide, particularly in the energy, IT and consumer products space, which are experiencing especially high demand.
