The engineering industry continues to be one of the strongest portions of the U.S. job market, adding over 2,000 jobs during this past month. With over 35,000 more employed engineers working in the labor market today than a year ago, these highly skilled workers continue to be sought after in increasing numbers as their niche skill set and expertise are required for innovative companies to continue to develop new products, systems and processes. While we forecast continued high demand across the entire sector, that demand will be particularly high for specialized engineers, such as nuclear and chemical, as the supply of these experts does not match the current demand.
