The brightest and healthiest portion of the job market continues to be the healthcare industry which added 33,000 jobs this past month. This is an especially positive sign given the fact that job growth in the industry slowed a bit in June. However, this was clearly a temporary condition as healthcare employers once again aggressively added jobs in July. Hospitals and ambulatory health services added the bulk of the new positions in the industry. As Boomers age and continue to put pressure on healthcare providers to keep pace with their growing medical needs, the industry will only continue to grow and increase its ranks of skilled professionals.
