Lee Hecht Harrison The workplace economy
January 2010

Our outlook

December’s job report had higher-than-expected job losses, but the unemployment rate held at 10.0%. More positive news was found in the professional services sector, which added 50,000 jobs, 47,000 of which were in the temporary employment sector.

While experts hoped to see job losses bottom out, many still feel that the economy is getting back on track and job creation could be seen soon.

Many of our clients are optimistic that 2010 will be a better year than 2009 and are looking at ways of expanding their workforce to meet demands in a flexible way that can change as their business does.
